IDEA
Should the identity for the 36th iteration of a 2-day, north woods event focus on “Design” or “Camp?” How about neither? Because both had been done. To death. We turned to the ethos of designers themselves — how the adventure would make them feel.
MATERIALS
We expressed their primal urge through directional signage, lanyards, guide books, long sleeve shirts, and bags to guide campers through the weekend and make them feel like this is where they belonged.
THE EVENT
The feeling extended through motion graphics interstitials, speaker introduction presentation screens and podium designs to unite and energize the proceedings.
IMPACT
The 2016 Design Camp® sold out. But more important was anecdotal event feedback: “2016 was fresh—it gave the event a contemporary mood that had been missing.”
